About Warm CHord Music
LONG BIO
Jason (Jay) Croft is a Detroit-based songwriter and producer recording alternative and hard rock music under the name Warm Chord Music. Croft first became active in the Detroit rock scene in the late 90's as a drummer, but soon began learning guitar to contribute more to the writing process.
In 1998, Croft co-founded indie power-pop band Bedford Drive (voted #3 Unsigned Artist - Alternative Press) and played drums for the band from 1998-2004 before departing to focus on his professional career, allowing Bedford Drive the opportunity to tour in support their latest album.
During his time with Bedford Drive, Croft shared the stage with national acts such as Motion City Soundtrack, and recorded two albums that received high praise from fans and critics alike. Applying his newfound skills on guitar, Croft introduced the foundation for some of Bedford Drive's most popular songs throughout its 10-year run, such as "The Last Time I Saw The Stars," "Alarm Sounds," and "Not Minding, Loving."
In 2000, Croft wrote several songs for his first solo release entitled, "Adventures in Lo-Fi" and later played a series of shows in the Detroit area to support the record, which was done completely at home with the help of contributing guitarist, Kevin Douglas.
After leaving Bedford Drive, Croft wrote several songs on guitar and formed Keep Manhattan, sharing guitar duties with writing partner, Jim Henderson. Keep Manhattan played a handful of shows in the Detroit area before disbanding after a farewell show in August 2005. Fun fact; Keep Manhattan's first show was the release party for Bedford Drive's new EP, which Croft played drums on.
During a 5-year drumming stint with classic-rock based cover band, "The DR5," Croft built-up his home studio and honed his engineering skills before forming Warm Chord Music as a solo act. In 2013, he released the energetic single "Indecisive," and received commercial Detroit & Windsor radio support with his second single, “Escape This Place” in 2016. In 2018, Croft reached #184 on the College Radio Chart with over 200 stations playing Warm Chord Music's latest single, “Haunted Dreams," a powerful alt-rock duet that has garnered positive reviews and has landed several sync licences from cable TV networks such as Discovery, MTV, NASCAR, and Fox Sports.
In addition to writing and producing, Croft is the primary instrumentalist and mixing engineer for Warm Chord Music and regularly works with talented local and remote musicians to record his songs.

ABOUT KEMPER PROFILES from warm chord music
In 2018, I started developing my own Kemper profiles, using my Revv Generator 120 amplifier. Using my recording/mixing background and access to a local recording studio, I came up with a good collection of profiles that I ultimately decided to turn into a commercial pack. While I initially planned to make this a one-off project, the feedback I’ve received has been very positive and I’ve amassed a good collection of speakers, mics, and new amps in the years since. Therefore, I plan to make the Kemper profiles portion of my site a bigger focus beginning in 2020. Expect to see several new packs in the near future
Whether it’s capturing profiles, presets, patches or whatever; my focus is (and will always be) on sounds that are aggressive, tight, and articulate. They are ideal for rock music with punchy and aggressive rhythm tones. I will typically leave effects up to you, as I’m a meat and potatoes style of player. You get the sound of the amp with a variety of mics and speakers with relatively flat settings.
what makes warm chord music profiles unique
I’m not interested in collecting amps for the purpose of profiling them. I profile the amps I own because I love the sounds they produce. If you see a profile pack on my site, you can feel comfortable knowing they contain sounds I developed for my own use.
Most commercial profile packs are sold on websites 100% dedicated to selling you profiles and many of them are great. As a punk rock type player influenced by bands from the 90’s and early 2000’s, I’m looking for amps that fit my taste and I simply haven’t had much luck finding commercially available profile packs that meet my needs. If you’re a rock player that straddles the line between metal and punk, I think you’ll really enjoy what I offer.
With the exception of my first pack, “Red General - OG Version,” my profiles are created at my home studio using the Box of Doom isolation box, which is an amazing product. It’s perfect for capturing those tight articulate sounds I described earlier.
The Box of Doom allows me to easily swap out speakers, which I own 4 of (at the moment). They include: Celestion Vintage 30, Celestion Redback, Warehouse Veteran 30 , Warehouse Reaper. In addition to speaker variety, I also work with a strong collection of microphones such as: Shure SM57, Shure SM7B, Sennhesier e906, Royer 121, and Audix i5.
